Home / Services / Continence & Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

At the St Vincent’s Men’s Health Centre, we provide physiotherapy services to help people who are experiencing urinary issues as a side effect of their ongoing prostate cancer treatments.

Prostate cancer treatments, including surgery and radiation, can affect the nerves and muscles that control when you urinate. Common urinary issues can include:

  • leaking urine
  • bladder irritation
  • needing to urinate more often
  • a sudden urge to urinate
  • a burning feeling when you urinate
  • difficulty urinating
  • blood in the urine.

What does continence and pelvic floor physiotherapy involve?

Our continence and men’s health physiotherapist will develop a personalised treatment plan to help address these issues so you can return to your normal activities. If you’re starting treatment for prostate cancer, ask your treating team about possible urinary side effects and treatments.

How do I find out more about continence and pelvic floor physiotherapy?
